McCall called Oklahoma’s COVID lockdown a ‘reasonable precaution’— and imposed his own mask mandate on the State Capitol.

In November 2020, when Governor Stitt issued an executive order limiting bar and restaurant hours and requiring masks for state agency employees, House Speaker Charles McCall publicly endorsed the order and announced the Oklahoma House would impose its own mask mandate at the State Capitol — calling it a “reasonable precaution.” McCall also implemented a rotating in-office and virtual work schedule for House staff.
